Dr Obinna Awiaka is a graduate of optometry from the prestigious University of Benin in Edo state, where he obtained a Doctor of Optometry in 1998. He is also an alumni of the prestigious Lagos Business School.
His working career spanned both the public and private sector for 13years after which he founded the Eyemasters Eye Clinic following a need to help children with vision problems get free eye care, that is why Eyemasters provide free eye care for orphanages in Nigeria from inception till date. This led to the establishment of iSEE FOUNDATION a registered NGO with a focus on providing free and qualitative eye care to children from poor homes. He is the brain behind the iSee Expo, Nigeria’s leading optical and eyewear exhibition and conference held in Lagos with exhibitors from Canada, UAE, South Africa, Algeria and Nigeria.
Dr Awiaka served as the Public Relations Officer for both Nigerian Optometric Association Lagos and National at different times, he has served and is still serving in various committees of the association. He is president of Trinity Secondary School Old Students Association and Vice President OMP 27 Class at Lagos Business School.
A trained life coach with Lanre Olusola training Academy who has facilitated various executive coaching events. He founded the walk4kids event , a yearly outreach held in Lekki to create awareness for children with visual disorders. Dr Awiaka introduced his own brand of eye wear called DROBINNO, Nigeria’s first designer eye wear which sold out before the launch.
Dr Awiaka is also a clinical Director Opening eyes since 2005 to date and the publisher Eyecare magazine and convener Eyecare Awards. He is married with children
